1. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

• Weight: 28.5 kg (unloaded); 31.1 kg (with full power cell).

• Length: 1.8 meters.

• Operation: Rechargeable Plasma-Core Capacitor, Helical Magazine Feed.

• Ammunition: Lucius-pattern Helical High-Yield Energy Cell (HYEC). Each cell contains sufficient energy for 3 full-power shots. Standard issue load is 2 cells (6 shots).

• Rate of Fire: Semi-automatic. Cyclic rate limited by capacitor recharge and cooling systems.

2. PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

The Elafibranor is not a standard-issue las-weapon. It bypasses the low-power, rapid-fire design philosophy of the standard lasgun in favor of delivering a single, devastatingly powerful blast of coherent light, equivalent to a vehicle-mounted lascannon but in a portable (if cumbersome) form factor.

Energy is drawn from the HYEC and stored in a superconducting plasma-core capacitor. Upon trigger pull, this energy is released in a nanosecond through the focussing crystal array, creating a lethal beam capable of vaporizing infantry and piercing the armor of most light to medium vehicles.

3. OPERATOR INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: UNAUTHORIZED USE IS PUNISHABLE BY SUMMARY EXECUTION. FAILURE TO FOLLOW PROCEDURES MAY RESULT IN CATastROPHIC WEAPON FAILURE AND OPERATOR TERMINATION.

Loading & Activation

1. Power Cell Insertion: Ensure the weapon's safety is engaged. Locate the magazine well behind the pistol grip and trigger assembly. Align the grooves of the Helical HYEC with the well and push firmly until a distinct clunk is heard and the status rune on the magazine housing glows amber.

2. Cocking Lever: Pull the large, reinforced cocking lever on the right side of the weapon fully to the rear and release. This primes the capacitor and cycles the first charge into the firing chamber. A low hum will be audible, and the "WEAPON PRIMED" rune will illuminate green on the sight housing.

3. Safety Selector: The fire-selector is located adjacent to the trigger. Red indicates SAFE, Green indicates ARMED.

Firing Procedure

1. Brace: Due to significant mass and energy transfer, the Elafibranor MUST be fired from a prone or supported position. Use the integrated bipod whenever possible. Failure to do so will result in inaccurate fire and potential injury to the operator.

2. Aim: Acquire target through the Magna-sight. The auspex will provide a leading reticle for moving targets. A steady tone indicates target lock.

3. Fire: Squeeze the trigger firmly. Expect a loud CRUMP of discharging energy and a noticeable recoil push (not a kick). The air will ionize around the muzzle, producing a distinct ozone smell.

4. Re-cycle: The weapon will automatically draw energy from the HYEC to recharge the capacitor. This takes approximately 2.5 seconds. The weapon is not ready to fire again until the "WEAPON PRIMED" rune re-illuminates.

Unloading & Safe Storage

1. Engage SAFE.

2. Press the magazine release catch (forward of the magazine well).

3. Remove the HYEC unit.

4. Pull the cocking lever to discharge any remaining energy in the capacitor (a faint hiss may be heard). The weapon is now safe.

4. MAINTENANCE (SANCTIFIED RITES)

• After Every Engagement: Clean the focussing crystal aperture with a sanctified cloth and apply sacred unguent #77-Epsilon to prevent carbon scoring.

• Daily: Recite the Canticle of Activation. Check all housing seals for integrity. Wipe the external casing free of dirt and heresy.

• Weekly: Perform a full energy cycle ritual. Have a trained Tech-Adept inspect the plasma core for entropy.

• Do Not, under any circumstances, attempt to open the main housing or align the focussing crystals yourself. This is a sacred rite requiring a Mind Impulse Unit and 17 years of training. Tampering voids the warranty and your soul.
